"The New Shul is an unaffiliated hip community in downtown Manhattan, made up of artists, producers, writers, photographers, lawyers and more. We come together to celebrate a Judaism that is joyous, meaningful, and relevant to our contemporary lives.
"Purim has become one of our main events as we don't just HEAR the megillah, we ARE the megillah. Join us in costume as actors recreate the story around you. Have your chance to walk down the catwalk as you enter the beauty pageant, eat Hamantashen from the famous Moshe's on the Lower East Side, and dance with (drag) Queen Vashti. Remember, what happens in Shushan, Stays in Shushan!"
Please come in costume!
